The work of Wide Open Opera is diverse, ranging dramatically in scale, from ‘happenings’ on the streets of Dublin, to huge productions at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. While opera itself can be notionally esoteric, the logo had to have a literal openness about it, appealing, as is their intention, to everyone.
The identity sought to capture this using bespoke lettering with a literal openness. And to reflect the nature of the diverse work, the logo is designed to be responsive, to adapt to any space, and so can be stacked or layed linearly, with the spacing between letters increasing or decreasing according to the space it finds itself in.
